Here we are in early June and the end of the British summertime is upon us. We’ve had our two weeks ration of sunshine and what a memorable summer it was, wasn’t it? Politicians expecting us to be interested in their squabbling about Europe while all we want to do is sit in the garden with a cold drink, listening to the neighbours arguing or mowing the lawn.
Now we’re told the sun is its way out for 2016 and the only thing to look forward to is staying indoors to watch the football on the telly.
Sometimes, it’s just doesn’t feel fair being British.
However, it’s not always like that. Sometimes we get lucky and have wonderful days to look forward to and then remember fondly in our old age. So if your wedding is lucky enough to be blessed with nice weather, then congratulations. Not every bride and groom are so fortunate.
If you do get lucky, your guests will more than likely drift outside to enjoy the sun and top up their tans. As the day wears on into evening, a nice, mild summer evening with a gentle breeze form the perfect condition for a summertime wedding. The sunny weather puts everyone in the perfect state of mind for such an occasion.
But as wedding caterers with a mobile crepe stall, we know that the sunshine can also give your guests a serious appetite. We know from experience that crêpes go down a treat in the sun – nothing beats a nice sugar & lemon pancake as a summertime wedding refresher.
Add to that some large jugs of ice cold, traditional cloudy lemonade (complete with with bits of lemon floating around in them) and you’ve got the perfect sumer wedding set-up – crepes, lemonade and sunshine.
Now there’s a cheery thought to consider when you watch the weather forecast on TV tonight.
