Every now and then we get a new wedding experience when serving from our mobile creperie. The most recent was at a wedding in Cheshire near Knutsford, and it was the introduction of a new ‘text-a-crepe’ service!
We’ve got to admit that, for once, the introduction of a new idea to the wedding crepes arena was not one of ours!
A guest who had been having good-natured fun at our expense all night had seen our phone number on the menu and decided that she was going to text her order to us. For the record, it was Bailey’s and Butttons. Of course, the professionals that we are, we had to make our response declining the request as polite as possible! And as you may imagine, this continued for some time – until she finally gave in and ordered her crepe in person from our crepe cart – which we took to mean that our crepes are irresistible. But to be fair, she did receive extra Baileys as compensation for her efforts…
But as cheeky as she was, she did sow a seed in our mind: what if you could text-a-crepe at your wedding? What if you can hire a mobile crepe stand for your wedding which offers pancake delivery to guests?! What a cool idea that would be.
There could be a couple of crepe waiters wearing high-vis waistcoats and bow-ties (another great Original Crepes idea!) wandering round the venue, trying to find out which wedding guests had ordered a nutella and fresh strawberry crepe whilst collecting orders from guests.
For those weddings taking place at venues where guests wander round the grounds, such as weddings on Scottish estates or castles, crepes could be delivered on a motorbike or (more realistically, but still just as silly) a mountain bike. Because the crepes are so thin, the delivery guy could stack hundreds of individually boxed crepes on top of one another.
The possibilities for wedding crepe delivery will one day be explored – by someone* – that’s for sure!
