Fairytale weddings only exist in fairytales, right?
Someone got in with us touch about hiring our mobile crepe station for her wedding, and she told us she had explored the possibilities of an authentic fantasy wedding: she had considered getting married at Disneyland.
As it turned out, it wasn’t for her. It would have been too expensive for her guests to travel over there for two weeks (she had looked into the Florida location, rather than California) though she told us she was very keen on the idea herself. She was pretty sure she couldn’t hire outside wedding caterers, so crepes (her favourite food) would have been off the menu, but thankfully , she adapted her plans and was instead getting married near Edinburgh. And she was allowed to hire crepes for her wedding – which off-set the Disney disappointment somewhat.
So out of interest, we looked into the Disney situation for ourselves. Paris is known as the ‘City of Love’ so EuroDisney was a possibility, but with the Euro being strong against the pound at the moment, Paris might not be a wise choice (though the Rodin mueum and Musee d’Orsay would be worth a visit if you could find time before or after the wedding). Crepes in Paris would also be plentiful if that was your thing, but whether they would be better than those made by Original Crêpes – well, who can say…?
So putting EurDisney to one side, the USA is obviously the home to Disney so it makes sense to go to the source. Florida is hot. Southern California is also hot. So there is no real difference between the two there.
Both East and West coast resorts have got Magic Kingdom parks, so the whole Cinderella / pumpkin-carriage / fantasy scenario is a possibility, if that is your preference.
Your guests are guaranteed to be amazed at the situation and will almost certainly never have experienced a wedding like it. But (and it’s a big but) – no crêpes (unless Mickey Mouse has skills we don’t know about). And even worse – no Original Crêpes for your wedding – unless you fancy bundling us onto a jet and flying us over. (In which case, the California option would definitely be your best bet for a wedding venue. Honestly.)
But alas, the costs of such weddings are astronomical, so are something of a rarity. Which leads us nicely back to where we came in: the young lady who was disappointed to not be having the whole Disney-style fairytale wedding due to the costs involved. Thankfully however, her disppointment at missing out on the Disney-based fairytale wedding was tempered slightly because she can hire our mobile pancake stand for her wedding near Edinburgh.
So it will be something of a fairytale wedding after all.
