It’s difficult to not notice that the World Cup is under way. True, there does seem to be a lot less people than usual driving round with flags hanging out of car windows, even in places like the Birmingham and London. But with almost continuous football on the TV, pretty much everyone knows that the event is under way. So how does this affect weddings and wedding planning?
Well, we can share the good news – most of the time, the fact that there is an important match taking place does not interfere with the wedding itself. We’ve catered at many weddings during various tournaments and we can honestly say that once once have we been in a situation where some guests seemed distracted from the wedding. The majority of the time, guests are very well behaved and don’t even talk about it. It’s as though it’s not even happening, and they are happy to become absorbed in the day and enjoy their tasty crepes! Rather than football talk, what we tend to hear is conversation about which flavour crêpe they will choose from our extensive menu and how much they have enjoyed the wedding. It’s as though outside events just aren’t occurring, and we’ve got to admit that is a good thing.
As regards the wedding planning – or more specifically, the choosing of the date – the above paragraph should reassure any brides thinking of getting married at those times that all will be well on the big day. We have had several brides contact us about hiring our mobile crepe stand for their wedding, and during the booking process, it is clear from our conversations that brides are well aware of the date and the on-going events. They can feel reassured that not only do crepes make an excellent choice for evening food, they will also be the centre of attention at that part of the day.
